@Ro_z1e And this is why RE5 and RE6 will NOT get the RE Engine remake treatment... tho I love both and wish they would, most "true" RE fans hate then, let alone gaming journalists hating RE5 for the controversy of it's setting.... sad....

@nayrbbackwards@AestheticGamer1 I say all this as a massive fan of both RE6 and especially RE5. I just know how most regard those games, and Capcom knows too. They won't risk their current "winning streak" reputation on two games most gaming media and "real" RE fans hate.
@nayrbbackwards@AestheticGamer1 If all that mattered was sales success, then there would be no Code Veronica or Zero remakes, we'd have RE5 and RE6 remakes by now. But sales matter very little in what gets a remake, its all about whether the game is considered "beloved." Capcom know the reputations of 5 and 6.
@nayrbbackwards@stef_films@cvxfreak My guess is that Capcom was considering RE5R during RE4R dev, but then we're told that RE5R would be too problematic and thus shut down company interest in RE5R dev. Sad, but I guess the "real" RE fans can be happy knowing that Capcom is sweeping RE5 and 6 under the rug.
@nayrbbackwards@Subzero_vXc@AestheticGamer1 Sadly, I think dusk is right on the money... which is such a shame since RE5 is my fave, and seeing an improved RE4R game design w/ coop would be amazing... but modern Capcom doesn't want to risk their current reputation so they'll prob just skip RE5 and 6...
@RowanWolfson@wanderingp64650@AestheticGamer1 CORRECTION: it USED to be the most important entry lore-wise. But considering how Capcom has handled the series since then, I'm not even shocked that fans now consider it "non-essential." Which would have been unbelievable back then, but now we have the connections and zeno....
@RowanWolfson@wanderingp64650@AestheticGamer1 A game where we visit Spencer's estate, learn about him and Marcus/Ashford, discover the origins of the Progenitor virus, finally defeat Wesker, establish the BSAA, and set up the future w/ Alex isn't important to the franchise? It's THE most important entry lore-wise since RE1!
Inspired by the last Resident Evil 5 post I made, I decided to make a full video not only taking a moment to appreciate the game again, but also to explain why its melee system is so good. Link below, I'd appreciate any watches :)
@Z64Gaming The RE fandom has devolved into thinking RE5 combat is "has no depth" or is "too easy." No wonder we have such poor-feeling action in RE now if that's the message Capcom got from the fans post RE5/RE6. Shame we'll never get back to the level of depth of RE5/RE6...
@dux_dux_dux_dux Old RE fans started hating Chris as early as RE5 (steroid memes) and especially in RE6 (only focus on him being aggressive, conveniently leave out his healing by the end of RE6). New RE fans just meme on him because he isn't Leon and just follow the memes the old fans made.
@AestheticGamer1 I mean, how often do we hear "this essentially replaces the original, there's no reason to play the original anymore" after a remake releases? Remakes may not technically replace the originals, but there is a sort of "soft" replacement that happens with video game remakes.
