@JfromBk Not obvious to me either. Marks is not building a team that actually plays winning NBA games. It is more that he is building an awful fantasy basketball team.
@LockedOnDevils Fitz left this team and Sunny in a difficult position currently with a poor prospect pool, limited trade options on the team (player wise and NMC/NTC reasons), and limited cap room. Expect small/subtle moves and not big splashes now. Playing the long game is the smart move.
@LockedOnDevils Sunny has to do a reset and he is looking at it as a 4-year window based on Jack’s contract. The goal is to be a Cup contender in year 3 and 4 so that he can resign him and Quinn. Rushing now for quick fixes that fans want is shortsighted and will fail. (Cont.)
@PodThorn@InsiiderJayy Wagler canceling all of his visits after the Clippers visit is the critical fact. How can he and his agent risk not meeting with the Nets, Kings, etc? If we see Wagler take a visit this last week, that will be the tell.
@brooklynsbeat It was also a miss by the Rockets. With Portland wanting a big man, Rockets should have moved Ralph Sampson to Portland for the 2nd overall pick plus more. Could have ended up with Hakeem and MJ which would have been scary. Twin towers decision by Rockets was a mistake.
@BigBlueInter The trade down with Detroit was to the 50th pick, a drop of 13 spots for the Giants. After the Giants selected Hood at 37, Detroit moved from 50 to 44 via a trade with the Jets. Detroit included pick 128 to move up those six spots.
@DanSchneierNFL Ownership wanted Dex gone. Dex tried to renegotiate the 4-year contract extension prior to it starting which angered them and were annoyed with Dex for last year bc he was out of shape and attitude. They wanted Dex to demand a trade for PR reasons and allowed them to move him
@BillyReinhardt Please stop with the Nets and Giannis discussion. Giannis wants to play for a team that has a chance to win a title. The Nets are far away from being far away. And if the Nets traded for the 31 year old Giannis, it is the same stupidity that has doomed this franchise in the past
@BaldPanarin For context, teams picking in the top 4 of the NHL draft have not traded out since the 1999 NHL draft when the Sedin twins and Brendl moves happened. It would have to be a significant overpay for a team to move off of picks 1 and 2 in this draft even if the move up is from 5.
@annikadevils Exactly the point - Mehta is smart enough not to move the 12tb overall pick. Opportunity will be there to move Hamilton, Siegenthaler and/or Dillon. With Casey’s value uncertain bc of injuries and Silayev coming over, one or two of those three NHL defensemen will be moved.
@TheDougRush Trade between KC and Cleveland was dependent on who was available at 6. The deal was announced when Cleveland was on the clock. I am speculating that the Giants thought about offering 10 and 37 for 6. KC moved 9, 74 and 148. Is 10 and 37 a better offer for 6 than the KC offer?
@BrooklynNets@ErikSlater_@mrvincecarter15 Thankfully, it is not Mr. Whammy - he is way too synonymous with this team’s bleak NBA history, which is not exactly who you want on the dais representing the Nets in this critical moment of the franchise.
@BaldPanarin San Jose would reject in a heartbeat. Teams picking in the top 2 do not trade down out of the spot and they are not doing it for Brandon Schneider. When was the last time a team moved out of a top 3 pick? Sedin trades and Pavel Brendl trade up.
@johnmfiorava@JoeFortunatoBSB With Shesterkin/Fox at this stage of their careers and the contracts of Mika and JT Miller, the Rangers really have no choice but to make such a move since they are not willing to fully rebuild. A full rebuild makes sense and requires moving Shesterkin, Fox, Gavrikov for a haul.
@BillyReinhardt Some of those items on the list would fall into the unlucky category. However, there are several items that would fall into this organization being just stupid category. Important to delineate between these two categories.
