H&F Council Leader Stephen Cowan visited yesterday to speak with pupils about local growth industries and the Pathway Bonds initiative linking young people with businesses. He also met students who’ve already taken up opportunities through the programme.
The History and French group visited the Palace of Versailles in the glorious sunshine. They were delighted to see the famous Hall of Mirrors as well as Marie Antoinette's bedroom and the beautiful gardens!
Audrey, Ella, Dana (Y12) and Alexi (Y13), with Rosie (Y12), took part in the SPGS French debating competition against schools like Eton and St Paul’s. They tackled topics from mass tourism to surrogacy—all in French. No win, but a great effort: “La fortune sourit aux audacieux!

We were delighted to welcome Sam McAlister, who spoke about the 2019 Newsnight interview with the former Prince Andrew- later adapted into the Netflix film Scoop. Sam gave an inspiring Q&A full of lessons on resilience, professionalism and standing out!
Year 12 artists visited the Barbican’s Dirty Looks exhibition, exploring how decay can be beautiful in fashion. Now they’re creating garments inspired by designers like Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood and Robert Wun!

The annual interhouse quiz packed 200 Sixth Formers into FH with PTA‑funded pizza and drinks. Eight rounds led by staff ended in a “Whitney Houston challenge” tiebreak. Results: 3rd Athenian Y13, 2nd Olympian Y13, 1st Olympian Y12 (thanks to Josh!). A great start to the holidays!
Olivia and Ava (Y13) were shortlisted for the prestigious Sovereign Art Prize! The celebration at Phillip’s Auction House in Mayfair featured 25 London students and a speech by Tim Marlow on art’s role in creativity and expression. Huge congrats to both!
Christmas has come to FH! Nyla (Y12) got busy decorating the beautiful tree in FH reception last Friday, which was generously donated by the PTA (and kindly collected by Rafe and Charlie, Y13). The result, with the four core Franklin team at the top, is a work of art.
