Weather Update – Nine Mile Chalet & Trails

Due to today’s weather conditions, the Nine Mile Chalet will be closed today. We plan to reopen tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

To help protect the trail system, we are asking all users to please stay off the trails today.

Gilbert Park parking lot, including the boat launch, will be utilized from Wednesday, October 29,, through Friday, October 31 for pier removal.  Parking will be limited, and there will be higher activity at the launch area than normal.

As of today, all mountain biking and horse riding trails are closed at Nine Mile for the season. Thank you for the great season. We would love to see your pictures from this past season if you want to post them in the comments!

In addition to the previously announced openings below, the Sylvan Hill Mountain Bike Trails will open for general public use on Thursday May 8th, 2025.

The following trails open May 1, 2025: Burma ATV/UTV (6am–10pm), Nine Mile, Kronenwetter, Leather Camp & Big Eau Pleine bike/horse trails. No motorcycles/dirt bikes on Burma. Nine Mile opens at noon thru May 27. Sylvan Hill bike trails remain closed.

Are you looking for a park with playgrounds that are suitable for toddlers? There are two toddler parks in our area that you should check out. Anne's Tot Lot is located at 909 Prospect Avenue and Lincoln Tot Lot is located at 822 South 5th Avenue.

Attention: Ragnar Northwoods Race is taking place this weekend at Nine Mile. Starting today, trails will be closed through Saturday. On Sunday, the trails will reopen to the public.
