How I plan to approach the upcoming WMTx migration. 🪙⚙️

While the following information is based on official @wmtoken sources, which I will list below, I encourage everyone to double-check these sources, conduct their own research, and make informed decisions.

Personal Approach
I will focus on WMT holders who are staking their WMT in the WMT vault and want to upgrade to WMTx while staying on #Cardano. Moving WMTx to other chains will be possible later on.

Why You Must Migrate
1) Enhanced Functionality:
Migrating to WMTx unlocks new features like staking, improved transaction speeds, and greater utility within the World Mobile ecosystem​
2) Interoperability:
The migration allows WMT to operate seamlessly across multiple blockchains, including Cardano, Ethereum, Base, and BNB Chain
3) Scalability:
By adopting WMTx, the network can handle more transactions efficiently, supporting the project's growth​
4) All WMT utility will move to WMTX:
WMT will not have any utility except being used to migrate to WMTX. The latter will have all the utility the current WMT token holds (including staking).

Migration Window
The migration window will open on 30.09.2024 at 11:00 UTC and close on 21.10.2024 at 11:00 UTC.
Make sure to migrate ALL YOUR $WMT before the window closes. Migrating after the window closes is stil possible but will require more effort (involving the WM team). Moving migrated $WMTx to other chains later on will still be possible. In general, don't rush it.

If Staking $WMT in the WMT Vault
To ensure you don't lose any staking rewards, wait (don't move) until the next snapshot on the 9th of October 11:00 UTC. You can safely migrate those tokens after the snapshot (but before the window closes). You can remain in the same vault but will then receive your rewards in $WMTX

How to Migrate
Only use the official link to the migration portal provided through trusted channels. The link will be available once the portal opens, which can be found on the official page:

You can ONLY migrate your $WMT tokens using the desktop extension wallet, @eternlwallet. Ensure you're using the official wallet. If you don’t have it yet, add your wallet to Eternl by connecting your hardware wallet or entering your recovery phrase. More instructions here:

How to Avoid Scams
- Only join official Discord or Telegram groups
- Anyone DMing you is almost certainly a scammer-official members will never DM you directly.

Orcfax Explorer: Improving 'Trust But Verify' 🔍

The Orcfax Explorer was launched in late 2023 and provides a powerful demonstration of the “Trust but Verify” concept to the Cardano community and other stakeholders interested in the price of ADA cryptocurrency.

In this project we will enhance the Orcfax Explorer to include:
🔸Real time network status;
🔸Dashboard visualizations;
🔸Network incident reporting;
🔸Audit log package downloads;
We will also see the addition of new Centralized Exchange (CEX) and Cardano Native Token (CNT) price feeds in the next major Explorer upgrade.

Not all oracle data stakeholders are software engineers. The average user needs to be able to trust but verify that the external data their dApps are using to settle major financial transactions are authentic and accurate. The Orcfax Explorer provides a human-readable portal to perform this critical accountability check and this proposal will add significantly to that capability.

Key benefits: increased transparency, higher trust levels among oracle data stakeholders, and an improved user experience, making it easier to verify and trust the system’s activities.

This proposal will allow the Orcfax team to audit the security of its on-chain and off-chain architecture, perform fixes and enhancements as per auditor recommendations and report on the audit status and outcomes. This audit project will ensure that the Orcfax oracle service delivers the most comprehensive, accurate and trustworthy real-world data possible to Cardano dApps and smart contracts.

The use of oracles as trusted data inputs to smart contracts that control large sums of Cardano user funds raises valid concerns about the reliability of oracle architectures. Many Cardano dApps require a security audit before considering the integration of external oracle feeds. Project Catalyst has funded such work for other projects in the past and the Orcfax oracle project qualifies under the same criteria.

Amongst other considerations, the audit will include:
🔸the off-chain software that collects, validates and performs calculations on real-world data
🔸the on-chain code that publishes fact statement datum to Cardano transactions and provides data provenance guarantees
🔸the audit log packages that are posted to the Arweave decentralized storage blockchain.
🔸the web-based Explorer that allows users to search and browse Orcfax audit logs

Key benefits: fortified security, optimized infrastructure, and strengthened trust in the platform, all of which are essential for a resilient and dependable solution.
