The Nakuru Regional Office joined other government and non-governmental organisations, as well as members of the public, in commemorating **International Women’s Day 2026 @NakuruCountyGov
The national celebrations were led by Hon. @hannawcheptumo ~Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage, who guided stakeholders in recognising and celebrating the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across the country.
The event was not only a celebration but also an important national platform for reflection and action. It brought together leaders, institutions, and communities to renew commitments to addressing persistent challenges affecting women and girls, including Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and barriers that limit equal opportunities and participation.
Through such engagements, the Commission continues to strengthen partnerships, amplify the voices of women and girls, and advance policies and actions that ensure rights are protected, justice is accessible, and equality becomes a lived reality for all.
A leader walks with purpose.
Every step is for the people of Turkana South.
Every step is for justice, progress, and dignity.
2027 is coming and Turkana South deserves leadership that puts the people first.

At the heart of the school stands a special unit for children with disabilities — a powerful reminder that true progress in education is measured not just by the number of classrooms built, but by the dignity, safety, & inclusion offered to every child.

What do communities need to understand about #ClimateFinance?
1⃣Climate finance ≠ charity—it’s wealthy emitters honoring a debt to frontline nations.
2⃣Follow the cash: demand full transparency on where climate funds go and who decides.
3⃣Africa needs more adaptation funding—resilience to floods, droughts, and heat, not just clean-energy projects.
4⃣Private finance is rising; push it to serve people over profit and avoid extractive models.
5⃣Master the rules (Glasgow Pact, etc.) to fight for fair, inclusive, feminist funding flows.
