🚨 URGENT: OUR NEW ROADS ARE UNDER SIEGE! 🚨

The recently commissioned Shurugwi-Mhandamabwe Road, a vital infrastructure project personally opened by His Excellency President Mnangagwa, is already showing alarming signs of distress. Built with a 20-year lifespan, this critical link is now undergoing premature repairs.

Why? The primary culprit is clear: Overloaded Trucks.

The very heavy-duty vehicles that benefit most from this smooth, paved connectivity are irresponsibly breaking it down. The weight limits are there for a reason—to protect our national assets.

As highlighted by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon. Felix Mhona, this is a profound issue of responsibility. The major beneficiaries of these multi-million dollar investments are, through overloading, becoming the agents of their rapid destruction.

This isn't just about potholes. It’s not about poor workmanship. It's about:

✅ Compromised Safety: Damaged roads pose serious risks to all motorists.

A 12km stretch of the Shurugwi - Mhandamabwe road was officially commissioned by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Honorable Joshua Sacco. The road which is being rehabilitated under His Excellency President ED Mnangagwa's road rehabilitation program is now 50% complete.

Today,Team B of the Joint Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Thematic Committee on Peace and Security conducted a tour of the impressive 50 million cubic meter Marovanyati dam, which boasts the capacity to supply water to the adjacent Murambinda growth point and irrigate a substantial 1,250 hectares of land. Although the dam is largely complete, the remaining works are crucial to its optimal functioning. Notably, the existing 40-hectare irrigation scheme near Murambinda growth point is currently benefiting from the dam's water supply, showcasing the project's potential for agricultural development and growth.
