@sampullara@romainhuet@united@Starlink Starlink is being deployed across the regional fleet first because the wireless spectrum for that network is being sunset first (Q2-2026 iirc). Each aircraft type and subfleet has to be โqualifiedโ for installation first, given approval, then they can roll it out en-masse. :)
@jodiann87@MCCCANM Not necessarily but itโs entirely possible. They can sometimes rig up a ferry permit if the individual aircraft are deemed ok, otherwise they could just break them up on the spot. It depends on what they find, whatโs needed, etc. All is in the air right now, I suspect.
@x_ecutive Our roads & drivers are a lot more rough on vehicles. Mandatory inspections and therefore upkeep is more optional among the less financially stable, leading to more expensive repairs down the road.
@RobbyMartini @MCCCANM Ok. So how long will it take to train 10,000 flight attendants? What do we do in the meantime during the weeks of training?
Are we going to outsource all the training to a third party? Whoโs responsible for making sure standards are kept? Or do we not care?
@chrvr6969420115@MCCCANM@GadsdenDave There are sometimes access hatches for maintenance purposes, depending on aircraft, but thatโs beyond the purview of the flight or cabin crew, and theyโre barely accessible on the ground either.
@nsw43@jzellis Opposition? What opposition. Go find a current opposing party in this country and not one that is working hand in hand with the ruling one to cause more problems.
@gphilpott9@MCCCANM Only certain ones are required to use it, varies by airline. Some only use it on the stretch 737 (the 900/900ER), other companies choose to use one on shorter aircraft out of an abundance of caution.
@9mmsmg The city itself is a disaster, more so in certain areas, however the suburbs are reasonably better. California is still quite beautiful, political dysfunction aside. If only we could clean the rot out, the weather and variety of natural beauty is unmatched.
@jzellis 300 billion is the rough difference between what California sends to the Federal Government and what we get back in funding. Imagine how much could get done if that money was kept local.
@readysetcya@MCCCANM You technically *can* (in certain very specific circumstances), but any access is a maintenance thing, or perhaps, done when bags fall against an inward opening door, as far as Iโm aware. Not exactly something one can do in the air, or quickly, in any event.
