Guess what: women’s Final Four delivers almost every year. Men have had so many duds recently, yet no think-pieces.
I thought Friday night was incredibly compelling. Not sure what this accomplishes.
I have lots of thoughts about how the Sun ended up in Houston, none of them good. While I’m glad those fans are getting a franchise back, I hate that it’s at the expense of New Englanders, and that the Mohegan tribe was seemingly strong-armed into giving an NBA owner priority.
The #WNBA has put its expansion draft in motion:
-Coin flip bw Portland + Toronto happens this Friday 3/27.
-GMs have to send their protected player lists by Sunday.
-The expansion draft is on Friday April 3 at 3:30 ET, 30 mins before the Final Four begins.
Details of a landmark WNBA collective bargaining agreement, per ESPN sources:
- New salary cap starting at $7 million, up from $1.5 million
- Average revenue share of nearly 20% across deal
- Supermax starting at $1.4M
- Average salary in range of $600K, minimum above $300K
