So, I've beaten FFVII Rebirth, obviously.
It's been several days now and I'm kinda shocked that I have this feeling that I don't want it to end. Like I'm not ready to leave that world yet. The only other game I played that made me feel that way...was the original FFVII.
So having watched Paul Levesque’s response to the inevitable question at last night’s presser, which he HAD to know was coming, I don’t think it could have been handled any worse. Maybe that was a TKO thing or maybe it was all him, but it was terrible either way.
Here’s the deal. He was in a no-win situation regardless of what he said. Maybe it’s the PR person in me, but you address it from the top because you know it’s coming. You either cancel the scrum or be prepared to address it. You haven’t read through the entire complaint, but you’re aware of the horrendous allegations and they certainly don’t reflect the organization as it exists today. He can’t speak to them beyond that because it’s a matter that will be addressed internally and in the courts and that’s really all he can say about it right now. We have a group of talented men and women who worked their asses off tonight and I’m happy to answer any questions you have about that.
This would not have satisfied everyone, but it would have been better than the dismissive way it sounded. Again, it was no-win for him regardless. I just shook my head at how tone deaf it came across. But these questions aren’t going away anytime soon. He can’t just say they want to talk about the positives and ignore the negatives. That’s not how life works.
