Personally, I tell my #students to just write so that I can at least UNDERSTAND what they've written. If I can clearly make out the characters, words, and punctuation, I don't care how pretty or blocky their #handwriting is.

I don't get #schools' obsession with #students' #handwriting. I mean, yes, it was a VERY important skill Before #typing and #printing became common. And I will always Admire pretty handwriting.
But now?
They already have SO MUCH to learn. Why keep another stressor?

i just want the energy to write all day and get all my book ideas down 😭 none of this listless mortality and need for sleep thanks it’s very inconvenient. my brain is moving too fast and the rest of me is not!!
what is being an author except making up weird little stories from your weird little thoughts and then insisting people read them and see if they’re cool
do you ever get really far into a wip and start feeling like the book should just finish itself. have i not done enough. must i hold its hand the whole way 😐 why so needy
“that author is so milking it now” “authors shouldn’t write for money” “ebooks aren’t worth the price” what 😭 for a society that consumes art relentlessly how do you also see it as worthless?? art is worth paying for and artists can make art with the full intention of being paid
@candiedbooks I truly believe artists can work with the intention of getting paid if they want! I definitely write for money or else I wouldn’t be able to live :) Else it’s strange we hold artists to this standard and no other career.
Sometimes I get caught by the "write what u wanna read" bug & plan to write an intricate twisty story with shenanigans that keep u guessing before ending unexpectedly but still making perfect sense...
& then I remember I hav to be smarter than ALL my characters to pull it off. 😭
writers will be like "this is just a rough draft haha just messing around with this story and seeing how it goes" and it's a book they've worked on for 5 years through blood, sweat, and tears and laid their bare eviscerated heart on the pages
