RIP and respect for Joseph “Toots” Mondt, who passed away on this date in Pro Wrestling History, June 11th, 1976 at the age of 82. He was the creative force and booker behind many stars across decades, helping build the careers of Wayne Munn, Jim Londos, Antonino Rocca, Bruno Sammartino, Stu Hart, Cowboy Bill Watts, and others. His in-ring career began around 1912 (trained by Farmer Burns), but he became far more influential as a promoter and matchmaker.
In 1963, Mondt teamed with Vincent J. McMahon Sr. to break away from the NWA and form the World Wide Wrestling Federation (WWWF), the direct predecessor to WWE. This move laid the foundation for the national expansion that Vince McMahon Jr. later completed.
Mondt was a farm boy from Iowa who became one of the most important behind-the-scenes figures in wrestling history — a pioneer whose innovations helped turn the sport into modern entertainment. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame (Legacy) in 2017.
RIP & respect to The American Dream, Dusty Rhodes who passed away on this date in Pro Wrestling History, June 11th, 2026 at the age of 69. The little plumbers’ son from Austin, Texas broke into the business around 1967, had a major run in a tag team called The Texas Outlaws with Dick Murdoch. Split from Murdoch and went to Florida, where he had a major babyface turn in 1974 under the booking of Bill Watts and Eddie Graham. Turned into one of the biggest draws of the. 1970s, had major booking run for Florida and JCP in the 1980s. One of the greatest interviews of all time. RIP Dream.
AJ Styles may be retired from in-ring competition, but the WWE Hall of Famer remains heavily involved in helping shape the next generation of talent. #WWE#AJStyles

NEW episode of The Ballot is out & it is all about Kane!
Ryan is joined by The Devil’s Advocate @adam_bomb5150 to discuss the WON Hall of Fame case of Kane, his role as a supporting character and whether or not he is actually a massive wrestling draw.

I love this so much. I can’t understand why Bobby Davis isn’t mentioned when “great managers” come up. In my mind, besides Wild Red Berry, Bobby Davis basically provided the blueprint for all successful heel managers that followed.

A new find. August 11, 1963. Athens, Greece. George Bollas vs. George Gordienko. Reported attendance? 20,000!
Bollas won. A rematch was booked with Bollas' mask on the line, but Gordienko left Greece right before (they claimed he had acute appendicitis but that's probably bs).
Been doing new research on Andreas Lambrakis for the past 15 minutes and I've already uncovered a new 10,000 crowd that he drew in Greece (in 1957 vs. Karl von Kramer). I have feeling his list of known big attendances, which is already impressive as is, is about to bulk up...
Additional newly uncovered Andreas Lambrakis crowds from Athens (as reported in the Greek press):
10,000 vs Kabaflis (10/23/57)
15,000 vs Kabaflis (11/10/57)
15,000 vs Maximiliano (6/23/63)
15,000 vs Zabo (7/10/63)
20,000 vs Gordienko (7/17/63)
20,000 vs Bollas (8/25/63)
Takaaki Kidani dropped off the ballot in 2022 for receiving less than 10% of the vote.
Interesting to see if he ever comes back on the ballot now that Bushiroad has sold New Japan Pro Wrestling but still owns STARDOM.
One year since Sabu passed away.
Things like innovator and legend can be thrown around at times, but Sabu absolutely earned those labels. And hopefully it’s never lost on fans how much he helped redefine what wrestling could look and feel like.
Tomorrow morning I am going to release a special bonus episode of The Pro Wrestling Time Tunnel History Show. I'll be joined by @BrianRSolomon and @BobSmithNYC two former members of the media along with my previous media expertise as we pay tribute and give analysis to the life and impact of Ted Turner, tomorrow morning dropping at 5am central from The Pro Wrestling Time Tunnel
"Ted Turner was one of the most influential people in our culture... and probably the 2nd or 3rd most influential person in the American wrestling scene of the last 50 years."

Ted Turner just passed away at the age of 87. He was among the most important people as far as the history of pro wrestling goes, and that was a very minor part of his world.
Ted Turner, the billionaire media entrepreneur and philanthropist who launched the 24-hour cable TV news revolution when he founded CNN in 1980, has died. He was 87. https://t.co/61G2Kuh8Vz
