@WPLL honors Errold D. Collymore, DDS, a pioneer in dentistry and political and civic life in @cityofwp. Dr. Collymore led the effort to have black nurses admitted at Grasslands Hosp. He was also the victim of racial outcry upon moving into the Highlands! @wprecandparks

@WPLL honors Dr. Arthur M. Williams, first black physician in WP. Dr. Williams started his practice in 1925, was refused staff privileges @WPHospital but granted privileges at St. Agnes. Dr. Williams was also one of the founding members of the local NAACP chapter. @wprecandparks

@WPLL honors George Duffie Rooks, a black @WhitePlainsPBA police officer in @cityofwp. Mr. Rooks joined in 1954, made Captain in 1975, and was recognized locally and nationally for "Exceptional Police Work." @wprecandparks

@WPLL salutes Joseph Davis, first black @WhitePlainsFire fireman hired in @cityofwp in 1949. Raised in WP, he was educated in the WPCSD @DrJosephRicca, and served in WWII with an outstanding military record! Thank you for your service to our country & community! @wprecandparks
