Mid Sussex Labour candidate Dave Rowntree told the Middy during the count: "I'm really happy with our campaign. The whole party worked together; everybody contributed. It's something to build on in the future, and shows that Labour can be a force to reckon with in Mid Sussex."
The actual count is now underway for both Mid Sussex and East Grinstead and Uckfield constituencies. Result could be announced at 5am, partly due to the late arrival of some postal votes. A lot of people voted in this one!

Counting has begun at The Triangle in Burgess Hill as verification is complete.
For the Mid Sussex constituency the electorate was 75,969.
The verification or ballot papers issued was 53,489.
The turnout figure Mid Sussex was 70.4 per cent.
Hopefully verification will be complete soon at The Triangle, Burgess Hill.
Council person just told me voter turnout looks high. Yesterday it was about 85% for postal vote. They predict it's over 70% for both Mid Sussex and East Grinstead/Uckfield
