29 years after the 6.9 magnitude #1989earthquake, the WSIP has improved seismic and delivery reliability for 2.8 million Bay Area customers. Our water system is safer and more reliable today than it was 10 years ago, let alone 29 years ago because of the #WSIP
@SFWater will continue to replace and upgrade our system pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plants even after the #WSIP is complete. We’ll worry about your water, so you won’t have to.
Providing high-quality drinking water is our top priority and as of August 1, 2018 we are proud to say that this $4.8 billion program, 87 projects spanning 7 counties, is more than 96% complete in upgrading the SFPUC's regional and local water systems. #WSIP#ValueWater
