San Antonio, thank you. 🤍
Our 2026 Luncheon brought together an incredible community of donors, volunteers, and supporters — all for one mission: connecting mothers and children through the power of story.
And a huge thank you to the Witte Museum for hosting us beautifully.

📚 WSP Book Club Alert!
Our next read is The Garden of Second Chances by Mona Alvarado Frazier — a story of an incarcerated mother who finds healing by growing a garden from the prison yard. 🌱
It connects beautifully to the heart of our mission, and we can't wait to discuss it together.

💛 Volunteer Appreciation Post 💛
Thank you to Antonia A., Amaya T., Marley H., and Miltonette C. for supporting families through a recent prison visit.
Every story recorded helps strengthen the bond between a mother and child.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Team Leader, Cathy McHorse.
We know that this loss will be felt deeply across not only the Women's Storybook Project, but also the greater Austin community. Cathy's care, compassion, and advocacy work will continue to live on. She spent so much of her life pouring into those around her. She will be greatly missed by so many.
✨ Intern Spotlight: Rebeca Valdez ✨
“One mom shared that when the 60-second warning comes before her call ends, she and her child say ‘I love you’ over and over until they can’t anymore.”
Moments like these are why this work matters.

Last week, we met with #TDCJ representatives to discuss beta testing #Toniebox audio figurines with a small group of families.
The goal: helping children stay connected to their incarcerated mothers through the power of stories and voice recordings.

Featuring: The Dallas Woman's Forum Last week, we kicked off our 2026 Luncheon Series in style — and it wouldn't have been possible without The Dallas Woman's Forum, who graciously donated their space and welcomed us into the historic Alexander Mansion for our very first luncheon in Dallas.
We are so grateful for the generosity that made this milestone possible. Thank you! Swipe to see highlights from the luncheon!
