Hello there👋
We are Western Sahara Resource Watch. We research and campaign companies & governments that work for Moroccan interests in #WesternSahara.
We believe the occupation will not stop as long as Morocco is allowed to profit from it.
Thank you for supporting our work. 🇪🇭
🔴 Morocco has opened another 1,090 hectares of occupied #WesternSahara to agriculture through @ENGIEgroup's desalination project. The expansion comes as the EU seeks a new framework for trade with Morocco covering products from the occupied territory.

In exchange for Morocco normalizing ties with Israel, Donald Trump recognized its claim on Western Sahara.
Now Hollywood has moved into Western Sahara, too, rubber-stamping Morocco’s colonial rule over the territory. https://t.co/wSCE8if3qH
🔴 The law is settled, but the practice is not.
While the adapted aviation deal continues to exclude #WesternSahara, several European airlines still operate there with the @EU_Commission taking no action.

This is pretty genius.
#Morocco's Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication created a musical group (Dakhla Casa Xpress) out of nothing (no albums, no videos, no Insta) and is composed of a guy from Kelaa des Sraghna (north of Marrakech) and another guy from Casablanca to promote the idea that Dakhla is part of Morocco.
It has nothing to do with Dakhla except the name.

@ULL@frangarciar@PresiCan@Univcordoba@universitatURV@EducacionGobC

When evaluating @realDonaldTrump's claims about his so-called peace legacy, don't overlook #WesternSahara.
@thedailybeast reports on #Africa's last colony, and the people left behind by "the art of the deal".

#Spain controls most of the airspace over the #WesternSahara. When #Morocco’s drones kill civilians or three #Polisario soldiers in the Sahara, as happened on Sunday, they do so in airspace controlled from Gran Canaria Airport. Doesn’t the Spanish government have anything to say about it?

🔴A trial is underway in #Denmark over the firebombing of Global Aktion, WSRW's long-time partner.
Graffiti left at the scene pointed to the organisation's support for self-determination in #WesternSahara. Verdict expected at the end of June.

🔴 More than a decade of scrutiny is having an impact.
The market for phosphate rock from occupied #WesternSahara has never been smaller.
Read the latest P for Plunder report and see how the trade has changed over time.

At its AGM, @hd_materials confirmed supplying #Morocco’s massive port projects in occupied #WesternSahara and increasing cement production in the territory in 2025.
The company continues to dismiss the #Saharawi people’s right to consent.

🔴 Morocco’s trade in occupied #WesternSahara’s phosphate rock is shrinking in buyers but growing in value.
Our latest report shows #Morocco made around $376.5 million in 2025 from selling #Saharawi phosphate rock to just 3 international buyers.

🔴 This contrast is staggering.
Morocco’s estimated phosphate revenues from occupied #WesternSahara in 2025: $376.5 million.
UN humanitarian appeal for Saharawi refugees in 2025: $103.9 million.

A #humanrights review of #NewZealand’s phosphate imports from occupied #WesternSahara sidelines core rights, overlooks legal context, and relies on “consultation” under occupation.
That is not due diligence - it’s deflection.

🚨 No documents. No data. Opaque labelling. Serious legal concerns.
Members of @Europarl_EN pushed back strongly on the @EU_Commission's handling of EU-Morocco trade covering #WesternSahara, in yesterday’s @EP_Agriculture hearing.

Behind closed doors today: @EU_Commission briefing @Europarl_EN on fisheries negotiations with Morocco, incl #WesternSahara.
Meanwhile, still no formal transmission of the final trade proposal to Parliament.
How can there be scrutiny without transparency, given the legal stakes?
