Excited to have the WSU Humanities Clinic featured in this new @HumanitiesAll report Approaches to Training in the Public Humanities!
Check out all the great strategies here: https://t.co/Cg1aMK33Ei
A second exciting project is that we have developed a Cultural Competency training for next year's interns! We will also be incorporating a training for safety in the field, which is important for all disciplines our interns represent. We're very excited to provide this service!
(4/4) PEPC provides the opportunity to examine equity through a leadership lens. I am able to join in on conversations with leaders at Henry Ford, understand their take on equity, and discuss what the hospital can do to maximize its presence throughout its different campuses.
(3/4) As a mentor, I have the privilege of working with scholars and helping them establish connections with leaders and departments at Henry Ford. With PEPC, we are interviewing system leadership to understand the effectiveness of equity within the hospital system.
(2/4) The whole purpose of HESP is to increase equity throughout the hospital system. Scholars have projects that range all across the board, from analyzing data on hospital discharge to the role of community workers in patient health. The spectrum is large.
(1/4) Hi everyone, this is Mary Yousif! This summer, I worked with @HenryFordHealth on the Health Equity Scholars Program (HESP) and Pursing Equity in Patient Care (PEPC) committee. With the HESP Program, I have the opportunity to mentor and guide scholars on their projects.
One of our most exciting achievements over this summer was starting a repository to show off our interns' work! If you go to https://t.co/y3jVlOhcZ2 and go to the Files tab, you can see deliverables from multiple years. We will keep adding more as we get them, so check back!
The Summer Clinic may be drawing to a close, but that doesn't mean the Humanities Clinic stops doing its work! This week's "Twitter Takeover" will be a summary of the work we've gotten done this summer, and a preview of what's to come during the school year!
Stay informed on what's new and next from the @WSUPress... Nothing Special by Desiree Cooper (available this Oct.) is well on its way to becoming a new kids' classic! https://t.co/k5tEIW4JAS
CS here! While working with the @WSUPress, I got to learn the life cycle of a book from proposal to print. Seeing the effort and teamwork required to transform an author's idea into a book is amazing and makes new books even more exciting!🤓
Carly Slank here! This summer, I worked with the @WSUPress helping track subrights licensing. Subrights allow WSUP books to be translated and transformed into other languages and formats. The Detroit classic, Techno Rebels, has been translated and published in Spanish and French!
We have two weeks left in the Clinic, but this is our final Twitter Takeover! For our interns, last but by no means least are @Carly_Fry and Mary Yousif! Keep an eye out for updates from our wonderful projects at @HenryFordHealth and @WSUPress!
(3/3) I have been helping construct a working care plan guide that can be continually revised as more organizations & resource connections are made within our community to support caregivers. https://t.co/609tmsq53Q
(1/3) Amanda here again (@AmandaJaneH28) to bring you another round of tweets about my second project with the Humanities Clinic: Eldercare & Caregiver Solutions! There is a massive number of responsibilities for care givers
(2/3) which can be overwhelming! ECS is working to provide comprehensive resources & support for Detroit caregivers as well as caregivers in surrounding counties.
I can't show pictures of my work (still working on perfecting them!), but I'm using Canva to make event docs. Just wondering...
do you prefer cool, earthy, tones or bright, expressive colors in brochures, fliers, & booklets for events? I like Earthy Tones 🌲🤔 @_Fatima_Alb
(3/3) about navigating healthcare and healthcare utilization for aging people with hemophilia- there is a lot of significant data to share! I am so excited to continue to work with this talented team after the clinic ends!
Hey everyone- this is Amanda Horn! First- a little about one of my on-going projects with Dr. Tam Perry & wonderful WSU colleagues in @WSU_Social_Work as well as colleagues from USC. They recently concluded their study about the experiences of aging people with hemophilia (1/3)
This study contributes valuable insight for multiple academic fields on how aging people with hemophilia navigate healthcare, social circles, caregiving, & more! As a medical sociologist, I am thrilled to be helping write a paper (2/3)
I've also been working on helping to develop the website for The ResiliENT Project. I fully believe in The ResiliENT Project's vision. https://t.co/fxTeDmyGFT
