@CiCi_Texas_45 We are extremely good at self respect. We do accountability quite well. We seem to be able to educate ourselves pretty well too. We work hard.
We seem to be pretty athletic as well.
But the "Father's Day" answer sums it up perfectly.
Ok all you buffoons with your hateful "murder isn't a mistake" garbage. I totally understand that.
The response I gave was to "should he be in jail". Yes he should, those are the consequences for his actions.
Doesn't change the fact a kid made a decision that has now ruined many lives. Which is awful.
Kids make mistakes. They are easily influenced by external factors. Easily manipulated.
I feel awful for him and his family. Wish I could give them all a hug.
But because of Karmelo's actions, I can't offer the same to his victims family or the victim. and for that he deserves his punishment.
This is what justice means.
@AntiLeftMemes Nope, the law at that time clearly stated you are now a US citizen.
Lucky you.
I wouldn't mess with the law too much, you got a huge gift. Embrace it.
@christywhy9 For what? We know he isn't a king. We know he has no plans to be a king. What would we be protesting?
We tend to protest things that are real.
20 years in jail. Real jail. Forced education program - complete HS, college level credits, job skills. Protect him.
Upon release, a REAL opportunity program and probation for his life. A portion of all of his earnings for life to go to restitution to the family and to programs for youth mental health.
A penalty served, a promise delivered and a positive impact on the rest of his life.
I have a friend who owns convenience stores in southern IL, Tennessee and Mississippi.
In Tennessee and Mississippi he actively stops shoplifters because he has support of law enforcement who will come and arrest those he stopped immediately.
In IL, he is told by police NOT to interfere and when he does, the police always show up and issue him citations for his enforcement efforts and lets the criminals walk.
The state of IL is fucked up.
