BREAKING: WE COULDN'T AGREE MORE! Mitt Romney says that he won't run in 2028 because 80-year-olds "shouldn’t be running the world" anymore.

This one is sure to get under Trump's thin, wrinkled, bandaged skin...

“I basically think people who are 80 and above really should not be running the world or running the country,” Romney told Deseret News.

He brought up the book "The Body" by journalist Bill Bryson because it "points out that the human brain shrinks by 20% by the time you’re 80 years of age."

Americans in their eighties are valuable, contributing members of our society and they should be provided with free, state-of-the-art healthcare and treated with respect.

But they should not be in control of the nuclear codes.

One need look no further than Donald Trump to see the risks inherent to gerontocracy. The man is clearly suffering from profound cognitive decline. He is constantly confused, misspeaks every time that he opens his mouth, and is growing more erratic by the day. A man who has no control over his mental faculties (and possibly even his own bowels) should not have the power to start wars and drop bombs.

Or look at Mitch McConnell. He's 84 and right now his constituents don't know if he's alive, in a coma, braindead, or actually dead. He should have retired from public life decades ago, but these aging politicians get addicted to power and cling to their jobs long after they've lost the ability to perform their duties.

Enough is enough. It's high time that we implemented age limits for Congress and the presidency. Let a new generation finally take the reins.
