Capital Region Legislative breakfast this morning with Senators and Assemblyman to discuss priorities for all area school districts. We appreciate their collective time today
Wheelerville students were part of a PBL unit on ancient Egypt, which included a trip to the NYS museum and a fair to present their research. Students created games and poster boards.
We are so proud to see our staff and students working together on a daily basis. Mrs. Gillen worked with Jenna on a writing project that was submitted in a national contest and recognized initially as a finalist.
Thank you to the Tobacco Free Coalition for presenting on the dangers of vaping to students and parents at Wheelerville. We had a wonderful turnout for the presentation and will continue to work with them to combat this epidemic.
We had our wonderful annual luncheon today and Wheelerville students and staff did a tremendous job providing lunch for over 100 guests. In addition, this year we were fortunate to have the very talented Caroga Arts Collection play holiday songs
The Wheelerville Board of Education meeting scheduled for this evening has been postponed due to the sleet and freezing rain conditions predicted. We will provide an update for the meeting soon.
Wheelerville students harvested over 250 pounds of tomatoes and 50 pounds of peppers, squash and cucumbers as part of the only farm-to-school program in the area. The program is in its second year and provides organic vegetables and beef to the school.
Wheelerville teachers presented with certificates after piloting a virtual professional development program with BetterLesson that creates innovative and student/centered PD. Working with coaches teachers utilized this process to enhance teacher and student engagement. Great job!
Wheelerville students and staff raised money to support #blueforDrew. We wish you the best on a full recovery; our school community raised money for Drew by selling shirts to show our support.
