Did an interview this morning at the Hoppy Kercheval building in Martinsburg. Hoppy had me on his show today at 11:30 where I revealed I had to bow before entering his building. I’m honored to speak on behalf of the hard working WV educators.
Spoke at the PEIA hearing in Wheeling last night and tonight in Martinsburg. The proposed 10.5% premium increase combined with the 24.2% increase with this plan year is unacceptable. Thursday night the hearing will be in Morgantown. Please join me there to have our voices heard.
Superintendent Blatt and I spent the morning with Ms. Murray’s third grade at Chapmanville Intermediate. The students were great and very engaged. Such an eye opening experience for us. What a great school and Ms. Murray was exceptional. Thank you for this opportunity.
Great night with @IAmWVEA @WVEADaleLee speaking at a @HarcoboeWV board meeting tonight! “You have over 1500 experts, listen to them. WVEA and HCEA are ready to go to the table to facilitate these discussions for what is best for our students”
Honored to speak at the WV State Board of Education meeting this morning. I’m brought concerns I’m hearing about the new Frontline system for applying for positions. The WVEA is also requesting information about the HOPE Scholarship and where the money is going.
A gift card for coffee is nice. A bouquet of flowers is welcome. Pizza on Friday can be a pleasant change, but that’s not nearly enough. If we really want to show educators we care, then we need to take action and change their lives both in and out of school.
Congratulations to Wayne Spangler, re-elected WVEA Vice President, Kris Bonnell, Michelle Wolfe and Georgiana Lang elected as members-at-large to the WVEA Executive Committee. Great voices for West Virginia educators and students.
Our 2023 WVEA Delegate Assembly is now complete. I am honored and humbled to be re-elected as WVEA President. Thank you delegate for your support and for your hard work!
So honored to have member and staff leaders of our historic merger with us today as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Education Minnesota - the first nationally recognized merged union in the nation! #edmnrc

Thank you Delegate Storch and the House Finance Committee for amending the PEIA plan to revert back to the current language of 80/20 in out of state contiguous counties. This’d amendment passed unanimously. The Finance Committee listened to your concern on this issue.
