Domoic acid (DA) poisoning occurs when certain algae blooms rapidly, dangerously increasing levels of neurotoxin in the food chain. As the poisoning progresses, seabirds will start exhibiting neurological symptoms. At its worst stage, DA poisoning can cause seizures and death.

Are you going to come to our Wildlife Baby Shower? You'll have the opportunity to see others, like squirrels, opossums, and birds if you take our hospital tour. The Wildlife Baby Shower is on May 3rd from 10 am to 2 pm at 21900 PCH in Huntington Beach, CA.

Every spring, bird parents make nests, occupy holes, or just plop their eggs right on the ground. Sadly, sometimes babies wind up in our care. Come to our Wildlife Baby Shower on May 3rd, 2025, from 10 am to 2 pm for a chance to see some baby animals!

This little friend is not so friendly! After wandering into a garage, it was herded into a bucket and brought in to us. We took a look (from a very safe distance) and said, yep, that looks like a healthy young rattlesnake.

This Burrowing Owl was minding its own business before becoming the victim of a window strike at the aquarium, so it never got to see the frogs. Thankfully, the damage appears to be minimal and prognosis is looking good. #WWCC
