WWD is just around the corner. This year's theme is valuing water, and we want to know what water means to you! Join us on #WorldWaterDay for a virtual conversation. #wwdAB
Jordan says: "Knowing the work I put towards research and protection of coral reefs is working towards the preservation of healthy ocean waters is important to me. Local communities within the Carribean rely on protected healthy aquatic environments to provide habitat for fish"
Heather: I love standing in front of the ocean. Like the mountains, it reminds me how small I am, and makes so many of my worries wash away.

Tracy: Growing up in a small town in BC allowed me to drink clean water off the mountain. Now as an environmental scientist I’m working to help more Canadians have access to clean drinking water.

Our volunteer Billie says: To say, “Water is life” may sound corny, but I know of no other way to express the significance of water to me. Aside from the obvious physical need for water, just being near a lake, river or stream is always rejuvenating.

Jordan: "The opportunity to have helped with conservation research and protection of the leatherback turtles egg laying season was an experience that made me love our ocean waters even more. The turtle relies on clean ocean water and protected beaches"
Janine: Water has always brought the important people in my life together. Whether that means camping on the lake to take a break, or traveling around the world - I always see water as an integral gathering place where I can find happiness and peace. #water2me#wwdAB#ABwater
We asked some of our networks what water meant to them. Tracy says: "Water is calming. I have been lucky enough to scuba dive in the ocean a few times. Every time I go I am reminded how peaceful it is and how important it is to protect these ecosystems"

I've been thinking about the importance of water for life. It's been front & centre with all the attention on coal devt. in the Eastern Slopes (thanks to the UCP). It's important we protect the Rockies and the watershed they are connected to on @WWDYEG & all days.#wwdab#abwater
