@AZinCLE Here is a photo, of a guard clearly doing the "Point and call system" in Japan. Yes they have guards, in fact most trains in the world have them.
@AZinCLE Also most trains in France ALSO have a conductor, so do German trains and almost all of Europe: yes american transit is awfull, but the LIRR is phenominal, and the strikes suck: but railway strikes are common worldwide, and most trains worldwide have a train guard or conductor
@AZinCLE Uhm: im gonna stop you there: almost every train in Japan has a guard also known as a conductor: usually at the back of the train, verifying the drivers actions and operating doors and managing the trains safety, so much so that lines that only have a driver are called "one man"
@Candace21437099@RobertMSterling Ehh thats a Boeing 717, built very late 90s and early 2000s, thing still has a mostly analog cockpit: their fantastic airplanes but they are getting old at this point so small mechanical errors are fairly common either them these days: Delta keeps flying em because despite their-
I can confirm what it was there for: I caught both its arrival and its departure early today (making it by the skin of my teeth lol) It was in Everett for the celebration of the 777's 31st anniversary to the day, and also apparently united or someone at united just released a new book, which the airline was celebrating! Very cool! Here it is kicking up spray this morning on its way out
I can confirm this is very likely a thing: On my instagram or united @aviationseattle I captured it landing (or I should say, slamming) onto the runway at Paine Field, its been here for 2 days, and is currently parked alongside a united 737 MAX9 so new it hasnt even done a revenue flight yet, I assume this is relating to a possible order for 777x, or possibly relating to the fact United started flying 777's exactly 31 years ago to the day: It is scheduled to depart tommarow at 10AM, and I will be there spotting it's departure! Absolutely amazing to see the oldest active 777 in the world back Home!
@sylveonkpopnyct Ok forget the idea of it forgetting nonbinary people: Its currently 7 hours late..... forget the idea of seeing it at all maybe ๐๐คฃ
@Muriuki96058957@Turbinetraveler Ok I will say: that was one of the hardest landings I have ever seen go to my YT @aviationseattle and watch it slam onto the right main, spectacular arrival if not absolutely brutal lol
@b777xlovers Its very very very likely United, im a spotters PAE, and saw a united 777 200 (the oldest active in the world flying) and a brand new 737 MAX 9 which hasn't even been put into service yet for an "event tmmrw" I'd guess its them
@HNLTransitFan@SS_DCTransit The skytrain solves this by having a laser barrier system. It constantly scans the tracks and if anyone falls all trains are immediately stopped: the skytrain in vancouver is full GOA4 with 2 minute headway and fully automation: it has NO platform screen doors
@TraaaKe Wait what?! I thought they did already for sim update 5! Your telling me I've been gaslighted into flying the 2020 version for the last week ๐คฃ
@choeshow THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 4 YEARS... 4 YEARS... its not the current mayors fault, its the collective failure of people in power over time at managing the drug crisis in North america: this isn't new lol
