@chicagobars@cta When I have friends/family in town, I always have them take the brown line from Armitage. The station attendant is always so helpful to first time riders. It feels like she keeps an eye on things, too. She deserves recognition, for sure.
@Andrefor40th I stand corrected! Thank you. I mistakenly grouped you in there from the early days and Hadden & Martin because prior to becoming alderpersons they aligned with protests against the Sterling Bay TIF, as did DSA candidates. Regardless, appreciate your post.
@Andrefor40th Duly noted some time ago, Alderman! I saw that independent thinking you mention with (DSA-affiliated?) Alders Martin & Hadden, too. I appreciate when Alders take the time to think critically and pragmatically about difficult issues.
@bsmcfadden@matt_weiss_@BikeIndex@stolenbikeschi Not sure if it still exists (anyone?), but back in the day, Swap-O-Rama in Back or the Yards was a place where stolen bikes were fronted. Thieves would “roll” stolen bikes at the swap or in the parking lot or they were leaned against various tables. Get there ASAP. Don’t delay.
@chancetherapper TY from Chicago! YES! We knew EXACTLY what you were talking & who the former (keyword: former) community organizer is who refuses a CBA. (Not to mention the environmental injustice of chopping down 500+ mature trees & demolishing the historic woman’s garden. So much wrong here.
@cta@ChicagosMayor#DNC 4/29, 6pm, 9pm, L full of pot smoke, drugs, yelling, loud music, half naked man taking off clothes. So embarassed for my city. Tourists there too. Not improved. Security MIA. (At least keep doors open more than 30 secs for us to run to other cars).
@yashar@PreetBharara Anyone know if, in the history of SOTU rebuttals, anyone has ever done a successful rebuttal - both in terms of content and delivery? Or are they always doomed to failure? (Yes, this one was especially bad).
@JoyceWhiteVance Pretty shocked that he just scolded the Supreme Court! Hope you'll address this on #SistersInLaw plus the standard protocol for SCOTUS during a State of the Union and when SCOTUS has departed from protocol.
@JoyceWhiteVance@clairecmc The fuzzy kitchen, the disembodied voice - the whole setup felt very AI. On the verge of laughing, then on the verge of crying, then a bunch of sighing? Very "pageant." Hard to pay attention to what she was saying (and yes, I too was looking for a @clairecmc cake).
@shannonrwatts Is this AI? Is this a "pageant?" She's on the verge of lauging, then on the verge of crying? Which is it?! This is not my kitchen table.
