I used to have fun tearing bad movies apart but I'm tired of being negative. I want people to seek these movies out. That's my new mission. Love the unloved.
Been a big fan of @HellhouseLLC series so I had high hopes for Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor. Let me tell you this is one creepy ass sumbitch movie right here. These guys know how to do found footage right. Watch it on @Shudder now.
Haunted Karaoke (1997)
It's July in Hong Kong and that means that ghosts are allowed out to enlist cops in helping them get justice. The ghosts of a burned down karaoke lounge are looking for their three killers and have forced Pistol and Chicken Wing to do it. (1)
The actors ham it up, with King-Tan Yuen as the goofy ghost Linda making the most of her screen time. The only thing I dislike is how a lot of these films end. They just END. Freeze frame, END, that's it. C'mon. (5)
@Shudder Because I don't try to turn people around when they're just standing there with their backs to you not moving.
Yeah you just stand there waiting, I'm going to play video games.
Truly creepy, and entertaining as hell (no pun intended), if you haven't seen it, check it out for yourself. If you have, maybe take another chance on it. It's currently on Peacock. (6)
Prince of Darkness (1987)
A group of quantum physics students investigate a church with a bizarre container of green liquid. Is it Satan? Is it the end of the world? Is it lime jello? Maybe not the last one, but I never tasted it. Pity. (1)
The plot may be a bit light, I'll admit, but the cast really makes up for it. You don't want these people to die.
There's a few horrific scenes as well, including a man held together with bugs, and a possessed man singing Jesus songs while fighting the evil inside him.(5)
Room 237 (2012)
The Shining is my favorite horror film. Of all time. It's actually one of my favorite films ever. But most times I've seen it, be it on physical media or the rare theatrical showing, I've just let that "feeling" wash over me. (1)
o why watch this if I don't believe a lot of it. Well because I DO think Kubrick puts some intentional stuff in the Shining. Like what's the deal with the office window? Why is that Dopey sticker disappearing? (5)
