I can finally put all 8 animations I made together 💐
It was fun trying out different new visuals and transitions! It's really nice to see them all together🥰

This is based on my memory btw since it’s been ages since I read #TGCF so cmiiw ya.
Xie Lian’s official title is 花冠武神 Huāguān Wǔshén (Flower-Crowned Martial God), and his most iconic imagery is “一手持剑,一手持花” (“one hand holding a sword, the other holding a flower”), which is why Xie Lian is constantly associated with the character 花 hua (flower)
then Hua Cheng adopting that same character 花 into his name. The name Hua cheng 花城 (Flower City) appeared after he became a Ghost King, and it feels symbolic in the sense that his entire existence/world is filled with the “flower” he worships, Xie Lian
even his title 血雨探花 Xuè Yǔ Tàn Huā (Crimson Rain Sought Flower) reflects this too, ‘someone’ enduring blood and rain while endlessly searching for his “flower,” then dedicating his entire life to protecting him once they reunite. The Yujun Mountain scene makes this symbolism SO explicit, when Hua Cheng protects his “flower” from the blood rain itself.
So the title 血雨探花 literally comes alive in that moment
and the “crimson red”, Hua Cheng’s signature color, also comes from the childhood nickname given by his mother: 红红儿 (“little Red”) 🥺 this is the same child later saved by Xie Lian.
So basically every aspect of Hua Cheng’s identity screams devotion to Xie Lian.
the untamed was a cultural reset btw. both in china and internationally. and they did that with 5 dollar budget, horrible ass cgi and rookie actors. anyone who undermines its success is lowkey homophobic sorry
One of the most detailed, time consuming pieces of artwork I’ve ever created, and one of the priciest. I really hope there’s still a place for handmade arts in people’s hearts, I would love for this to fine a home! For now I’ll enjoy it for as long as I can ♥️
