There was apparently a tornado in Alaska on July 4th, and it was fully condensed, too! That's incredibly, and I mean incredibly, rare. I honestly can't recall seeing a fully condensed tornado documented in Alaska before. This footage was captured near the Alpine Creek Lodge outside of Cantwell, Alaska.
Monday was a busy day in the North Rockies, as they received 11 inches of snow, just five days before the Fourth of July! This coincides with a heatwave bringing all-time record high temperatures in other parts of the country.

USGS reports that the Venezuela earthquake today was a “doublet event," with a "magnitude 7.1 foreshock that was followed just 45 seconds later by a larger 7.5 mainshock."
This a phenomenon known as groundwater upwelling or a hydrostatic pressure release. When the ground becomes oversaturated, the water table rises, and because sandy soil loses its ability to absorb more liquid, the excess water finds the path of least resistance to the top.
A strange phenomenon: After the extremely heavy rains over the past two days, water gushed out from beneath the ground as if it were boiling.
