@gami_vc@ChainSawNFT Nothing from Chainsaw since August last year. Matt has popped up occasionally saying he wants to fix it. Hence he needs someone like yourself who best knows the tech and the culture ๐ค
@gami_vc@ChainSawNFT The exploiter just bulk minted and unloaded on opensea. Followed by doing the same on the other collection contracts controlled by the same wallet. All of the images were hosted on Vercel, which has since gone dark. So legit collectors are left with a token and no live nft.
1/ Multiple projects tied to Pepe creator Matt Furie & ChainSaw as well as another project Favrr were exploited in the past week which resulted in ~$1M stolen
My analysis links both attacks to the same cluster of DPRK IT workers who were likely accidentally hired as developers.
@gami_vc Hey Dude, love ya work. Canโt dm but:
Matt Furie should get you to help fix his collections that Chainsaw borked (hired NK hacker according to Zachxbt). Itโs been nearly a year since all Pepe, Hedz, Andy etc NFTs were exploited, and still no fix. Needs to go on chain!
@CrashBandicrypt @Matt_Furie When the solution or at least bandaid solution could be as simple as alerting to the fact something has happenedโฆ let alone reaching out to those who could help. Is just totally crazy.
@CrashBandicrypt @Matt_Furie Complete silence and not even a warning re: security is hardly protecting his reputation. Iโve been a fan a long time, pre crypto days. Iโve been , in some small way, a defender and a champion of Matt in the face of the appropriation for the negative. Weโve all as fans beenโฆ
@CrashBandicrypt @Matt_Furie Happen again. Now with this latest, this is completely unacceptable, detrimental to the space, and completely irresponsible.
@CrashBandicrypt @Matt_Furie Patient through multiple mint launches with issues both technical and lack of communication. And weโve had the wake up call that, the images are not even in chain. When they didnโt pay Vercel, the images went offline for some time. But we allowed it, and hoped it wouldnโtโฆ
