Hon. SodoKaguta, with all due respect, this argument is extremely shallow.

Nobody forced the Museveni family to go to the bush. They chose to go willingly because there was a problem that needed solving. That problem was bad leadership. The bush war was never meant to create a permanent family franchise. It was meant to liberate Uganda so that EVERY Ugandan could benefit, not so that one family and one tribe could monopolise the state for over 40 years and counting.

Many other people also went to the bush.hundreds of them. Many were shot, many lost limbs, many died. Yet you don’t see their children, wives, and relatives permanently occupying the highest offices in the land while the rest of the country watches. Most of those fighters left government long ago and went back to their private lives. Why is it only this particular family that must remain glued to power forever?

The war was supposed to produce temporary leadership that would hand over after a few years. Instead, we are now over 40 years,and the conversation has already shifted to preparing the son to take over. That is not liberation. That is succession by blood.

Look at the current state of Uganda honestly, entire regions remain neglected and underdeveloped. Key government positions are disproportionately filled by people from one particular tribe and one particular family. That is not fairness. That is not the Uganda that people died for in Luwero.

A country belongs to ALL its citizens that is Baganda, Basoga, Banyankole, Acholi, Langi, Bakiga, Iteso, and every other Ugandan. Leadership that prioritises blood over merit is the reason successful nations leave us behind. Serious countries appoint people because of capacity, competence, and character NOT because of whose son, wife, brother or relative they are.

Continuing this path will only deepen the rot. Uganda needs an end to this 40-year chapter. We need new, vibrant, younger leadership that will treat every citizen equally and finally take this country to the next level of real development ,not another generation of the same family.

The bush was never private property. Neither is Uganda.
