This is insane footage of the massive mudslide at the Nepal-China border earlier today: the mudslide, originating from Nepal, seems to have basically completely obliterated the border port in Gyirong (吉隆), Shigatse City, Tibet/Xizang.

We're likely looking at one of the worst mudslides in China's history, really bad tragedy.

For having myself lived in Nepal during several months (in the middle of the devastating 2015 earthquake!), probably the place in the world where nature is the scariest.

La crêpe de froment bretonne : l’art de transformer trois ingrédients en symbole de la gastronomie française.

Pendant des siècles, la Bretagne vit sous le règne du sarrasin. Le froment, farine plus noble et plus chère, reste réservé aux occasions festives. Il faut attendre la fin du XIXe siècle et la baisse du prix de la farine de froment pour que la crêpe douce se démocratise face à la galette.

Au cœur du geste : le billig, plaque en fonte culottée au lardiguel (mélange d’œuf et de graisse), chauffée à blanc. La pâte s’étale d’un trait de poignet à l’aide de la rozell, râteau de bois taillé pour l’exercice. Si la crêpe colle, le coup de main manque ; si elle s’effiloche, la fonte était trop froide.

Côté recette, la tradition ne tolère aucun compromis : farine de froment, œufs frais, lait entier, une pincée de sel et du beurre demi-sel, fondu dans la pâte puis badigeonné sur la crêpe fumante. Pas d’arôme artificiel, pas de levure : la finesse vient du repos de la pâte.

Aujourd’hui, ce savoir-faire a conquis le monde. Exportée par la diaspora bretonne puis adoptée aux quatre coins du globe, la crêpe de froment est devenue un symbole universel du réconfort et de l’art de vivre à la française. Des crêperies de Tokyo aux comptoirs gourmands de New York, ce disque d’or croustillant et fondant suscite la même fascination.

Et ne me parlez pas d’une éventuelle comparaison avec le pancake… ;)

O avião com o call sign RCH4555 (Rich four five five five) e registo 07-7181 está equipado com dois módulos especiais ROCC (Roll On Conference Capsules): um compartimento VIP para repouso e reuniões e um centro de comunicações seguro que lhe permite estar em contacto permanente com a base da CIA em Langley, Virginia. O C17 está também equipado com um sistema antimísseis não vá haver qualquer engano na identificação por parte da defesa aérea da Rússia. A Ucrânia terá aceitado suspender os ataques a Moscovo entre segunda e quarta feira justamente para proteger este voo. Segundo o site @flightradar24 o C17 estará já na viagem de regresso a Riga. Que terá andado a fazer em Moscovo o diretor da CIA?
