I was squeezed, forced to undress, beaten, and humiliated.
One police officer refused to believe I am Luo. He insisted my ID was fake and said he would only believe it after another Luo person came to identify me.
Then came the questions.
"Why aren't you in the broad based government? What are you doing with Kikuyus? Why can't you support the government when Luos are already in government?"
Those questions revealed more than they probably intended. They showed how dangerous it is when citizens are judged by their ethnicity or their perceived political loyalty instead of being treated equally under the law.
But amid that darkness, one person never gave up on us.
She kept calling.
She kept pushing.
She stood her ground when others chose silence.
Her courage and determination ensured we were released and driven away.
That lady is @PalomaGatabaki.
Thank you for standing with us when it mattered most. We will never forget it.
Now we owe you a proper meal.
I don't know whether you enjoy fish, but we must take you to Gikomba for some delicious obambla.
KWS officer Evans Kimaiyo has today seen bad things at the Nakuru Magistrates Court.
Evans Kimaiyo is the forth KWS officer admitted to his own defense in the matter of Brian Odhiambo.
Kimaiyo tried lying to the court that he was not present when Brian was abducted,
But upon being shown forensic analysis showing his phone at the exact place Brian was abducted,
He started stammering, sweating and asking for drinking water.
At the end of his defense, just like Alexander Lorogoi and Mr Ochieng,
Evans Kimaiyo has also pointed fingers at senior sergeant Francis Wachira as the man responsible for everything.
Bwana mahali tumefika, Kuna wanaume watakula maharagwe.

YG Marley paid tribute to his mother Lauryn Hill and grandfather Bob Marley by performing โTurn Your Lights Down Lowโ at the BET Awards โค๏ธ๐ค๐ฅ
One day, I was in a boda boda stage and I heard them talking about the Public debts.
I listened then I interrupted and asked them a very simple question.
" Nyinyi kama bodaboda, si mko na SACCO?"
They said yes.
" Na kwa hii SACCO yenu, si mko na chairman, Deputy Chairman na Treasurer?"
They said yes and I went on.
" Now imagine your Chairman, his Deputy and the Treasurer waamue saa hii waende Equity Bank, wachukue loan na jina ya SACCO thirty million bila kuwauliza, alafu hiyo pesa iende kwa accounts zao watumie kwa matumizi yao ya kibinafsi, then one day Equity Bank comes to you SACCO members that you have a loan to pay. You never consented, you never saw the money, do you allow your contributions to be used in paying that loan?"
MAJAMAA waliruka bwana, " hiyo hatuwezi bwana. John ( SACCO chairman) mkijaribu hiyo tunawaua."
Thereafter, I told them that that is the situation we are in as a country.
A situation where we are being overtaxed to pay debts we never incurred.

KRA wants a share of dowry money.
There is a guy called Kamau.
When it was time to buy his wife, he mobilized his most monied buddies.
He put them in a WhatsApp group. The fundraising began.
Those boys were loaded. They were only 35.
By by the time they were done, they had contributed 4.5 million shillings.
Others who were not in the group wired money directly to Kamau's bank account.
The ruracio D-Day arrived.
And as always, the one and only Kikuyu ruracio anthem was tuned.
๐ถ Wero... Werokamu guku kwa wa Kanini... Werokamu... ๐ถ
Before they could finish the song, more than 2,000 people had pulled up.
Wakaanza kutoa funjo. Then one man stood on a stool and announced they could not sit until they had given Kamau top up money to add to the dowry.
The donation book was hurriedly brought. People lined up. Cash started flowing.
By the end of the day, another 2.8 million shillings had been raised.
Kamau took the money and banked it.
Total dowry contribution sitting at his bank account: 8m shillings.
The ceremony became the talk of Gatundu South.
Kamau paid his dowry. Collected his wife. And went home peacefully.
โข Lesson 1. Monied friends are good for paying dowry.
I have no clue how. But sometime later, Kamau was marked for a KRA tax audit.
KRA went straight for his bank statements. They found deposits of 8 million shillings.
Immediately, they baptized the entire amount as undeclared taxable income.
Then demanded: 30% income tax. Penalties plus interest.
Total bill: 2.5 million shillings plus.
When Kamau saw the tax bill, he went mad.
He could try to talk but words would not come out. He nearly swallowed his tongue.
When he came back to real life. He shipped a protest letter to KRA.
He explained the money was dowry contribution from his family, friends and well wishers.
- He produced WhatsApp group fundraising screenshots.
- He produced RTGS confirmations.
- He produced the donation book.
- He even produced videos of the ceremony.
Including footage of the Werokamu song.
KRA could not hear any of it. They only wanted 2.5 million.
When Kamau realized KRA was not playing, he ran to court.
He told the Tribunal:
- My lord, look. I have shown KRA where the money came from.
- I have shown KRA who contributed it.
- I have shown KRA the ceremony.
- What more do they want from me?
KRA responded.
And what they said nearly made the judges fall off their chairs.
They argued the evidence was not convincing.
Why?
โข Because the 2,000 plus donors had not sworn affidavits confirming that the money they gave was a donation and not payment for goods or services.
The Tribunal looked at the matter in amusement.
Then ruled.
- Kamau had discharged his burden of proof in full.
- KRA had acted unreasonably by ignoring and disregarding the substantial evidence he provided.
- And most importantly: Income tax is a tax on income. It is not a tax on every deposit appearing in a bank account.
The Tribunal found that KRA was wrong to treat all bank deposits as taxable income without first removing proven non income items such as dowry contributions.
The tax demand was killed.
Kamau won.
KRA retreated to Times Tower. And rested.
Case closed.
โข Lesson 2.
- Document everything.
- KRA will push. Push hard.
Hate how as a Kenyan, everyday feels like we are parenting Kipchirchir through his presidency because he's a toddler that wants to mess up everything.
It's all "Wacha!" "Usiguze hio" "Usiuze hio" "Usiibe hio" "Usikule pesa ya education" "Nisikupate na terrorists" for fucks sake!
Colon (:) introduces something. You usually use it when what comes after is a list, or an explanation, or even a reveal.
An example is โshe had one rule: never apologizeโ or โthis is a list of things you should get from the market: eggs, tomatoesโฆโ
Itโs also used as the eyes in a smiley face :)
Semicolon (;) connects two complete thoughts that are related but could stand alone as separate sentences. Itโs stronger than a comma but softer than a full stop.
An example is โFrank never apologized; he didn't think he was wrongโ
Itโs also used as the eyes in a winking face ;)
The internet never forgets. Watch this 2021 video carefully. This is Moses Wetang'ula, furious at Uhuru Kenyatta because fuel had reached KSh135. Watch how he asks why fuel was cheaper in Uganda than in Kenya. Today, fuel is at KSh242. What changed?
