We've got another closure on I35! Two 18-wheelers and a vehicle have crashed, causing major delays on I35 Northbound at the New Road exit.
No major injuries have been reported. Please choose an alternate route at this time while crews work to clear the road.

Heads up Waco! Northbound traffic on I35 is being diverted at the Meridian/Robinson exit while TxDOT crews clear debris from the roadway.

TRAFFIC MOVING SLOWLY - The interstate is now reopen and traffic is moving slowly. Take your time on the roads this evening the ice isn’t gone just yet.
TRAFFIC DELAY - A multi-vehicle crash, due to icy road conditions, caused a traffic delay on I35 from New Road to Valley Mills.
No major injuries have been reported. We suggest you take an alternate route so you don’t get stuck in traffic while crews are clearing the scene.
10:30 A.M. - Officers have completed the search, no threat was found and all students, faculty, and teachers are safe.
No injuries are reported. The school is back to normal operation.
Waco PD is on scene at South Waco Elementary School assisting Waco ISD Police Department where NO CREDIBLE threat has currently been located.
Officers are inside the building and all measures are being taken to search the school.
No injuries have been reported.
9:50 A.M. - The threat has been deemed NOT credible and out of abundance of caution the school is still being searched in its entirety by police.
Parents will be able to pick up their children once the school has been cleared. The information will be shared by WISD to parents.

Update - The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Paul Thames.
Thames was charged with injury to a child and taken to the McLennan County Jail. The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Waco PD is aware of a video circulating on social media depicting a horrendous assault of a 3-year-old boy by an adult male that occurred this afternoon. The suspect is currently in police custody after turning himself in.

A hay bale spill occurred around 3 PM this afternoon on Hwy 6 over the Twin Bridges headed toward Speegleville.
While the road is still open, traffic is moving slowly while crews work to clear the debris.
