@ManiKochar Don’t worry mate that won’t be me! I’ll just be happy to coach whoever turns up and will do my best. Not going to stress about it too much any more.
@ManiKochar It could but needs some creative solutions to pitch time & space. Opportunities for unstructured safe play. We open our pitches 3 lunch times a week for free play but it has to be supervised. We get up to 50 kids there some days.
@JPR_25 Interesting comments on here. 9v9 3/4 pitch is a great format but fundamentally means less players playing than either 2 x 7 a side half pitch or 11 a side full pitch. So the debate is not fully about development but has a participation element to it. I’m torn between the two.
@JPR_25 And next week I have to choose between watching my son play in the U18 Plate Final for @HamptonHockey or coaching @HarborneHC M1 in their final league game of the season. Who thought it was a good idea to schedule national finals on the last day of the national league?
@ManiKochar@TheHockeyPaper My point is that I think currently most hockey fans are hockey players or people with an already established link to the game. Until the sport reaches outside the current hockey community I think this will be an issue.
