They were OK with either a draw or a win and they were securing that. Algeria needed a draw for their own interest. No one was purposeful about kicking Iran out.

@byala_a العراق و ايران و كوريا كلهم كان معاهم فرقه افريقيه و تفوقت عليهم و تأهلت. أبكى فى الزاويه او توقف عن اختلاق الأعذار الوهميه و ابدأ فى إيجاد حلول. لو حدث تغيير فى نظام كأس العالم القادم سيكون بسلب أسيا بعض مقاعدها بعد المستوى المتدنى الذى ظهرت به معظم الفرق الاسيويه.

@Bilou_Nam Ghana and Cape verde were in tough groups and still qualified and performed much better against teams as strong or stronger. You lost to Belgium 5 -0 right before WC. Same Belgium that was outperformed by Egypt and couldn't even beat Iran.

@SReminal @TotalFootball This is for the best for both world cup and the image of Asian football. I think Asia should have 5 direct spots at max (I.e Japan, Australia, Iran, South korea, Saudi) and the other 4 are through playoff matches against african, south american and European teams

@Bd_irB_ll Currently there are 8 seats for Asia and one playoff. Imo it should be 5 seats and 4 playoffs (for example 2 of them vs Africa raising the total number of potential African seats to 12, with 9 of them guaranteed)

@Bd_irB_ll At current level, Asia should have 5 direct seats maximum imo (Japan, Australia, South Korea, Iran, Saudi). The other seats should go to confederation play offs against teams from Africa and Europe.
