An Update from Unam Sanctam:

Dear Followers and Subscribers to Unam Sanctam,

Since the public launch of our project in April we have seen passionate, worldwide support. We are more than encouraged by what has been achieved so far, and upon writing this there have been 15 Bishops, 56 Priests, and 87 Religious who have clearly expressed their support for a meeting amongst clergy to discuss the crisis in the Church and its potential solution.

Of course, we commend the ultimate success or failure of this project up to the Hands of Almighty God. The conclusion of this crisis will be done according to His designs, and it is our task only to offer up our efforts to Him and to cooperate - to the best of our ability - with His Divine Will.

Yet, it is indeed our efforts we ought to offer, and Unam Sanctam has every intention of remaining active in these coming weeks, months, and years, with the view and hope that our efforts might be of service to Our Lord and His Church.

Our team has been very busy for these past months. We have received a huge amount of correspondence, including support from all over the world. We have also received much criticism which has been educational for us to consider and address.

Moving forward, we will seek to clarify our position all the more, to address any doubts and, most importantly, try to encourage the clergy to meet for conversation.

Unam Sanctam holds that a solution to the crisis of the papacy exists, is within the capability of the Church, and moreover is a duty of the Church to accomplish. However, we wish to make the following points clear:

• The Unam Sanctam administrators are not currently convening an IGC.

• Signing up to Unam Sanctam does not mean signing up to an IGC.

• While Unam Sanctam is proposing an IGC, it is nonetheless open to criticism.

• The present goal of Unam Sanctam is to invite faithful Catholic Clergy to fulfil their duty to work toward a solution.

• Unam Sanctam is inviting such clergy to meet to discuss the crisis and hear all opinions in a spirit of fraternal charity and in pursuit of truth for the good of the Church.

Thus, it is towards these goals that Unam Sanctam is currently aimed. We will continue to reach-out; to respond to correspondence, to address criticisms, and to further clarify our position.

For those reading this who would like to support us, the best way to do so at present is to simply spread information about Unam Sanctam far and wide. If you are clergy, we invite you to sign-up in support of meetings and to share our message. Likewise, if you are laymen please share our message and encourage your clergy to support us. If there is any serious reason anyone would have to not attend discursive meetings, we would like to know them.

Sempre que vejo o Lula e a primeira mulher-dama desfilando sozinhos num 7 de Setembro, eu me lembro da repórter Cristina Prochaska cobrindo um baile de carnaval no início dos anos 1980. No momento em que ela conversava com uns foliões quaisquer, surgiu uma mulher nua em pêlo ao lado e, salvo engano, o Otávio Mesquita gritou no ponto do cameraman: "Fecha na Prochaska!" E o câmera tchuns!... dava um close na buceta da mulher. E o Mesquita: "Não! Abre! Abre!" E o câmera abria o plano. E o Mesquita: "Puts! Fecha na Prochaska!" E o câmera tchuns de novo, fechava na buceta. E ficaram nisso um tempão, o Mesquita, em início de carreira, desesperado e o câmera confundindo Prochaska com xavasca. No caso do Lula e da Janja, imagino o diretor da transmissão gritando para o câmera: "Não tem povo aí, fecha essa merda!" E o câmera, ouvindo apenas "merda", fecha imediatamente nessa merda de casal.

Parece que eu estava adivinhando. Fiz uma postagem ontem sobre a absurda injustiça da prisão desse homem e hoje leio essa notícia. Já disse aqui outras vezes, o método Moraes é de extrema crueldade porque ele não se contenta em prender seus inimigos, isso não basta. Além de privar as famílias do convívio com essas pessoas, ele vai lá e retira a fonte de renda desses presos políticos para que suas famílias percam tudo e morram de fome. Ele quer a destruição total, inclusive da alma. Para um pai de família, saber que seus filhos passarão necessidade enquanto está preso é uma forma de extrema tortura. Moraes adora fazer isso. A anistia era tão importante porque tudo isso precisará ser anulado e revertido, mas parece que ainda estamos muito longe desse dia.
