#UNHAS is back in action within #Sudan 🇸🇩!
We successfully resumed flights from Port Sudan to Kassala, with plans to regularly reach Dongola.
As long as there are people in need, we’ll be there – ensuring that they stay connected to those who can help them.
So honored to receive @AP’s top journalism prize, The Gramling Journalism Award, in the company of esteemed colleagues whom I joined in New York to celebrate. Grateful!
@chinedu_asadu@AP Incredibly proud I am of you, my dear, amazing friend! Your perseverance and passion are truly inspiring and have truly paid off. Huge congratulations once again! Let’s celebrate soon. 🥳🥳
This week, I visited Turkana with @rghelani to see how our @MercyNawiri team is helping communities build resilience and adapt to growing climate challenges. It was inspiring to see women leading their communities in the fight to thrive amid the #ClimateCrisis.
Impressed by @mercycorps climate resilient approach in Turkana, Kenya. They are reaching populations at scale through integrated activities like drylands rehabilitation, climate-proofing of water systems, and improved governance, helping people withstand increased climate shocks.
A common saying here now is "Khartoum carried Sudan but Sudan can't carry Khartoum"
It really feels that way. The capital was home to millions of people from all over the country who are now crammed into "safe" cities on the verge of collapse
A true humanitarian catastrophe.
Sibongani Kayola, Mercy Corps #Sudan Country Director addressing UK MPs at the Sudan & South Sudan APPG today.
“We are calling on the UK government to urgently disperse the £97m allocated for Sudan this year. Hunger will soon claim more lives than conflict.”

Today marks 500 days since conflict erupted in #Sudan, creating "one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent history." Over 10M people are internally displaced, 25.6M face acute hunger, & 755,000 are on the verge of #Famine. Urgent global action is needed now! #KeepEyesOnSudan
Aid agencies are urgently working to prevent widespread famine in #Sudan, but time is running out.
It is our collective responsibility to bring an end to this crisis as the specter of starvation looms over millions of Sudanese lives.
The time to act is NOW. #EyesonSudan
