THERE WAS A TIME KENYA HAD TOM MBOYA AS A CABINET MINISTER
When Tom Odhiambo Mboya was appointed cabinet minister for economic planning in 1963, he was only 28 and had been the chairman of Kenya Federation of Labour, the All-African Trade Union Federation and studied at the University of Oxford - straight from Form 2!
In 1967 - within 4 years of becoming a cabinet minister, Mboya had single-handedly independently sourced for funds and had the iconic Kenyatta International Conference Centre’s foundation laid and construction started. No punitive taxes were imposed on Kenyans to do that.
By the time Jomo Kenyatta MURDERED him on July 5, 1969 - 6 years after making Kenyatta Prime Minster then president - Mboya had organized thousands of international scholarships and Airlifts for brilliant needy students, and emerged as the most BRILLIANT, dynamic and charismatic cabinet minister in Kenya. Mboya was only 34!
It was Mboya’s in-depth grasp of public policy, his strategic and tactical genius, his eloquent articulation in public podiums, parliament and boardrooms, his resourcefulness, and dedication to public service which made him widely admired in Kenya and abroad.
Mboya did not feather his pockets with public resources and did not die a billionaire - a significant departure from the plutocrats whom Kenyans refer to as “leaders”, state and public officers - who are nothing but organized criminals.
Fifty five years after Kenyatta ORDERED TJ Mboya gunned down in cold blood, Kenya’s president, cabinet secretaries, and senior public officials are only known for plunder, incompetence, ostentatious lifestyles, punitive and illegal taxes, unsustainable public debt, and how many mistresses they have.
TJ Mboya was 1,000,000,000% better than @WilliamsRuto’s incompetent, corrupt and dead wood cabinet secretaries. He did not participate in conflicts of interest, tenderpreneuring, kickbacks and theft in public office.
The revolution is to overhaul all the rotten neocolonial structures, institutions and culture of impunity in Kenya so that the Tom Mboyas in our midst can step in and transform the society for the general public good.
Rest in Peace, Wuod Ndiege, Ja-Rusinga. The revolutionary patriots, GenZs and Millennials will eventually get you JUSTICE!
