This is not what our classrooms are supposed to look like in the middle of March. Many tears were shed today with the uncertainty of what comes next. Parents, know that we love your kids and we are all praying that we will see their sweet faces enter our classrooms again soon.
We made a paper chain today where each link on the chain represented 10 minutes of reading at home in the month of February. The chain made it around our entire classroom! 541 links on our chain = 5410 minutes of reading!! @WhyteRidgeSCH
We are very excited about our interactive bulletin board! We used @Flipgrid to create book recommendations for other students in our school. They can come to our board and click the QR codes to watch our reviews. Thanks @MrCoubrough for all your help! @WhyteRidgeSCH
We have been learning about Thailand in 2/3W and have been comparing life in Thailand to life in Canada. One of my students went home and compared life in Canada to his home country of Nigeria and brought in his findings to share with us! @WhyteRidgeSCH
I am so proud of the writing that my students are creating. During Daily 5 they have the opportunity to choose what they write. Some are creating squiggle stories, some are using story starters and others are using non fiction books to add accuracy to their stories.
This month we did some procedural writing about how to build a snowman. We first built some snowman, then did some writing and finished it all off with some awesome artwork. I think my students did amazing!
In science we have been exploring the three states of matter and today we wondered what we could create if we mixed solids and liquids together. We discovered that you can make some delicious cookies! @WhyteRidgeSCH@MrCoubrough
