Big News this morning : The George Washington statue near Fenway Park in Boston has been given the Highest Honour By the 🏴 Scottish Fans. Someone has got up there God knows how and placed a traffic cone □on his heed. 😅🤣😂😂. This is a proud moment for 🏴 Scotland.
👍🏻
Reporter: are you excited for the World Cup here in Boston?
Scotsman who's been drinking since 5am at airport: oh aye, but the flight ran out of beer halfway over the Atlantic. We have higher hopes for your pubs.
Reporter: & for your team ...
Fan: well let's get to the pub 1st
HS2 is expected to cost over a £100bn - meaning Wales is now losing out on £5.8 BILLION. 🤯
The people of Wales refuse to be treated as second-class passengers any longer.
The UK Government must devolve rail to Wales and ensure fair funding for our communities. 🏴
Wales shouldn’t have a Secretary of State anymore. We already have a democratically elected WG and FM. Communication should be direct between the FM and the PM, not through a London-appointed representative. Wales is not a colony — our voice should come from the people of Wales.
@matt_gerken@Plaid_Cymru First I think the Government needs to hand over £5 billion for HS2 “an England and Wales” scheme that doesn’t set a foot of track anywhere on Welsh soil. Then another £360 million for the similar Oxford to Cambridge railway designated “an England and Wales” scheme.
“HS2 was originally designed to run between London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds”…. this England ‘n Wales project does appear to be a bit “light” on the Welsh bit
£102 billion for 'England and Wales' HS2 project.
Projected infrastructure spend:
England - £102 billion
Wales - £0
Miles of track:
England - 140
Wales - 0
Barnett formula consequential:
Wales - £0
@MallyB30725@jfwduffield@HuwDavies1998@Pr0bP0stL1b Mandated English: Section 20 of the 1535 Act decreed that all courts in Wales must be conducted in English, effectively rendering Welsh a barrier to justice and political advancement
@MallyB30725@jfwduffield@HuwDavies1998@Pr0bP0stL1b Finally? What are you on about? You obviously didn't understand the Brad y Llyfrau Gleision reference. Maybe do some research before pretending you understand the subject. If you were interested in the subject, this is what you'd do. Do your own homework.
@MallyB30725@jfwduffield@HuwDavies1998@Pr0bP0stL1b Following 1282, 1536-42, 1408, Welsh was also beaten out of the Welsh systematically. Welsh not allowed in court, banned from having universities, etc. caused Welsh people to adopt English surnames to fit in. Cultural irradication. You're not interested, just being awkward
@MallyB30725@jfwduffield@HuwDavies1998@Pr0bP0stL1b I've told you the resources to look up. If you weren't aware of people beaten up because of being Welsh, even children through the Welsh Not, then please read up before peacocking on an issue.
