The Bible says when one speaks in a tongue, their spirit prays and no one understands him (1 Cor 14:2). When you pray in tongues, your spirit is praying divine mysteries, prophesying what is needed, and joining the intercession of the Holy Spirit over your life. When you pray in a tongue, you are praying perfect prayers.

Say you download a movie on the internet and half way before it’s downloaded, you open the file up. You will see a bunch of random code that makes little sense unless you are a programer. In the same way, when we pray in tongues, we are downloading things from heaven into our spirits. We will not understand it unless we are operating in a gift of interpretation, which we can ask the Lord for (1 Cor 14:13).

When you are praying in tongues, you are edifying and building yourself up in the spirit (1 Cor 14:4, Jude1:20). Your natural mind may get board, but your spirit is being supercharged and that influence will start becoming manifest in your soul.

As you spend time praying in tongues, you will notice the word of God will come alive with fresh revelation, answers to prayer and breakthroughs will come suddenly, divine connections and appointments start happening,, you will have more encounters, visions, prophetic words, and dreams. You’ll notice temptations lose their allure, a fresh hunger for His Presence, miracles and all the other gifts of the Spirit will start to flow more regularly.
