Hephzibah, Georgia. On Friday, April 17, 2026, just after the graveside service for 4-year-old Niomi Rose at Hillcrest Memorial Park, authorities took her aunt and caregiver, Linda Rose, into custody. She now faces a charge of second-degree murder for negligence in the child’s death.
Niomi was found unresponsive with severe blunt-force injuries on the night of April 10, 2026, at a home on Edgeworth Drive in Hephzibah. Linda Rose had called 911 around 11:30 p.m. At the time, Niomi had been left in the care of Linda’s boyfriend, 28-year-old Collin Aaron Aber.
Niomi was rushed to Wellstar MCG Medical Center in Augusta and was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on April 11 from blunt-force trauma inflicted by an adult.
Aber fled the scene with Linda Rose. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, leading to a police chase that ended in a SWAT standoff. Aber was arrested and charged with murder in what investigators described as a brutal assault. He remains in custody.
Linda Rose, who had legal custody of her niece, was arrested today following the funeral service. Both individuals now face murder charges in this case.
Niomi Rose, described by those who knew her as a joyful child with a bright smile, has left the Augusta area heartbroken. The community came together to support funeral expenses through fundraising efforts.
This remains an active investigation, and additional details may emerge as court proceedings continue.
Singer D4vd has been arrested in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.
The Los Angeles Police Department took the 21-year-old singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, into custody on Thursday afternoon. Detectives from the Robbery Homicide Division executed the arrest following a lengthy investigation that began last September.
Celeste Rivas Hernandez was reported missing from Lake Elsinore, California. Her remains were discovered on September 8, 2025, inside the front trunk of an abandoned Tesla registered to Burke. The vehicle had been towed to a Hollywood Hills tow yard after repeated complaints about a strong foul odor coming from it. Forensic examination later confirmed the identity of the remains.
Court documents from earlier this year had identified Burke as the target of a grand jury investigation into the teenager’s death. Prosecutors had sought testimony from members of his family as part of the probe.
Burke is currently being held without bail. The case is scheduled to be presented to the District Attorney’s office on Monday for formal filing of charges. He has not yet entered a plea, and authorities have released no additional information regarding a possible motive or the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
This remains a developing story. Walk the Crime will continue to monitor updates from the LAPD, court proceedings, and any new information released by investigators. Justice for Celeste requires a complete and transparent examination of all the facts.

This marks a tragic end for the former public official who served as lieutenant governor from 2018 to 2022.

The Diddy doc was fire but it let Clive Davis slide way too easy.
We all know Clive was Puffy’s real godfather in this game. Signed him, funded him, showed him every move.
I needed them to dig into THAT relationship instead of just flashing his face and dipping.
Some devils wear Brioni, not Sean John.

On This Day in Crime History: October 2, 2002
The Washington, D.C. area was shaken when a 55-year-old man was shot and killed outside a grocery store in Wheaton, Maryland. This was the first in a series of terrifying attacks later known as the Beltway Sniper shootings.
Over the following three weeks, ten people would be killed and three others critically wounded as fear spread across Maryland, Virginia, and the nation’s capital. Victims were chosen at random while performing everyday tasks like pumping gas or shopping.
The attacks were carried out by John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo, who used a modified car to fire at unsuspecting victims. Their deadly spree would only end when they were captured on October 24, 2002.
The Beltway Sniper case remains one of the most chilling examples of random violence in modern American crime history.
