One cow aborted her calf - we didn't see that in the PR videos by @DavidClivestock
There was a vet on board for this journey (a rare occurence) and from his report it is clear there were issues with ammonia levels in the vessel. Humidity was high and a cow on the same deck had respiratory illness. These factors can all contribute to a cow aborting her calf. The vet estimated the calf was 7 months old. These animals should not be put in these risky situations 🐮
