The new school year marks the second year of universal school meals in Minnesota.
The data is clear: more students are eating breakfast and lunch at school, ensuring they have the food they need to learn and helping families lower the cost of groceries.
I was 14 when Columbine happened in 1999. School shootings were not something we worried about before then.
Congress passed an assault weapons ban in 1994, which was supported by Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford, and Jimmy Carter.
It was lifted in 2004.
Mass shootings quadrupled.
Trump’s own campaign could not find a single example of this “school secretly sends child for gender-affirming surgery without parental consent” thing having ever happened anywhere in the US. Experts say it has not and could not. It’s a lie. https://t.co/W1AKw41M1t
Let’s talk Trump in Wisconsin.
“People in their 80’s are too old to be held accountable for documents they sign.” Well that alone makes Trump ineligible to be president because he has to honor everything he signs including treaties.
"Leon's going to send up a rocket. He looks forward to it; that's all he thinks about is things like that." I guess we can all call Elon Leon now😂😂😂
He referred to Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming simply as "Briar."
The dudes brain has completely evaporated. There is nothing but Diet Coke and adderall spinning around that enormous black hole upstairs
When I came to office, the pandemic was raging and our economy was reeling.
Almost four years later, and we’ve had one of the most extraordinary periods of progress ever.
@atrupar@AP AP caving to GOP bullying. Calling anything a "fact of life" is BY DEFINITION saying we have to learn to live with it, that nothing can be done.
Vance might just as well have told grieving & terrified parents "Cope!"
He's now fighting the urge to post a Pepe tea-sipping meme.
@DenaePFA She’s smart, well-prepared and reads? I’m relieved to hear this report that says she’s accountable and expects staff to be as well. Imagine. Unlike her opponent who flushes important reports doesn’t the toilet.
Vice President Harris apparently committed a grave sin for these staffers: having high standards of excellence for them whilst being a woman of color in leadership. Cause there ain’t no way on God’s green earth this critique would be levied against a white male in leadership.
I just asked my Republican neighbor to watch this clip, and this was his response: “Okay, that was embarrassing. I honestly have no idea what he [Trump] was saying. Gotta admit her [Harris’] answer actually made sense.”
👉Takeaway: Talk to your neighbors!
As a mom and educator, I refuse to let people like JD Vance normalize gun violence in our schools.
Kamala Harris is right – it doesn’t have to be this way. For the safety of our kids, we must act to prevent gun violence.
Look, I can only speak for my experience working for @KamalaHarris. She was smart, warm, funny, and yes, at times tough—but in the best way possible. She asked the right questions, cared about getting it right, and listened to the experts in the room.
She was great with my staff, which means a lot to me, and she was the first person to call me when my son was born in the middle of her presidential campaign. I have nothing but nice things to say about every interaction I had with Kamala.
Also, if you're going to work in politics and government—you better be able to articulate the why if you're asking the principal to do something. Especially when it comes to digital, which doesn't come naturally to most elected officials. They're the ones putting themselves out there, not you. I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to expect from our leaders.
