Paying Pat McAfee north of "$60 Million" is a pretty big misnomer.
McAfee then pays for his studio, his overhead, his production team, his cohosts, etc.
When Stephen A Gets paid by ESPN, ESPN is also paying for Stephen A's producers, studio space, equipment, guest fees, etc...
Pat: retires from NFL
“That’s crazy. He left millions on the table.”
Pat: launches podcast. Parlays into millions in deal with FanDuel. Then takes contract at espn.
“That’s crazy. He will not have the same success with the guard rails at ESPN.”
Pat: Joins WWE.
“That’s crazy. He will damage his reputation and turn off his fanbase.”
Pat: signs most valuable extension in TV history at $60m/yr. Releasing his first music album.
“That’s crazy. He thinks too much of himself and it will fail.”
