SCAM ALERT 🚨
Everyone, please be very careful!
This morning, an unknown number called me claiming I had won a gadget. They told me to message them on WhatsApp.
Once I did, they asked if I had an ID card showing my full name. I said yes, I have my NIN. They replied, “Good, you will use it to pick it up for security reasons.”
Then they demanded a ₦10,000 delivery fee from Abuja to Osun State and asked me to send the receipt so they could “confirm it.”
They even used my own tweet (“I need a phone or a laptop”) against me, and sent pictures of iPhones to make it look real.
I suspected something was wrong, so I quickly DM’d @AndyjnrUmaru to verify. He confirmed that his team never asks for money if they want to send something to someone.
This is a clear scam.
