Diverse perspectives drive diverse solutions! The science policy team had diverse backgrounds & expertise so we could lean on one another. But everything we did was grounded in bringing the voice of the public (including those underrepresented) to the forefront policy agendas.
That’s a wrap! What an incredible PhD internship with @Science_Academy working on the Research Roadmap for Blood Cancers project.

Really exciting sessions coming up today, Wed & Thu - discussions regarding where we should focus our efforts for blood cancer research over the next 10 years! Registration info below 🩸🧬⬇️
Learned Academies and Leukaemia Foundation join forces to accelerate blood cancer research
⏰ Webinar series starts Tues 21 Nov ⏰
Blood cancers are among the most common cancers in Australia, responsible for almost 6,000 cancer-related deaths annually. The @LeukaemiaAus Foundation is hoping that by 2035 no Australian will lose their life to blood cancer, and with this in mind, has engaged the Academy to begin developing a 10-year plan to accelerate breakthrough #bloodcancer research in Australia. This process begins with a consultation process through an initial consultation paper, interviews, and a series of themed, interactive webinars and surveys to understand the current blood cancer landscape in Australia.
