Junior hurler Samantha McGinn collected 5 Ks and allowed 8 hits with 3 BB over four innings. Freshman Hailey Koptyra came in in relief in inning 5, yielding 3 runs and issuing 3 BB.
The Panthers, now 2-2, face-off against the Waldwick Warriors (2-1) Home on Wednesday at 4:30 PM.
Nadia Naumoska went 2-for-3 with 5 RBI, and Alba Lugo went 3-for-4 with 4 runs scored to pace the Panther offense. Eagle-eyed Madisyn Rodriguez drew 4 BB, and Madison Vicente drew 2 BB and 2 HBP to score 4 runs. Next up: at Garfield on Thursday, at 10 AM.
The score was tied at 17-17 at the end of 6. With some solid hitting and some forced errors, the Panthers roared back to score 6 runs in the top of the 7th. McGinn held the Comets to 2 runs in the bottom of the frame, inducing a game-ending ground ball for the 23-19 victory.

Coach Anj reminded her players on Tuesday that one game did not define them -- their response would. The young Panther squad took those words to heart and came out strong on Thursday, downing Becton, 10-6.
