Suspected Kuki militants ambush several trucks today afternoon plying on National Highway 37, Imphal Jiribam road at near Tollen Kuki village.

During the ambush, one driver sustained bullet injury in his feet.

📌 Earlier CM @NBirenSingh announced his suspicion on the involvement of foreign militants in the ongoing Manipur crisis.

📌 Later #KuldiepSingh who is in charge of the law and order situation in Manipur announced that there was no evidence of foreign element being involved in the Manipur crisis.

📌On 18 Jan 2024, #KuldiepSingh admits to the involvement of foreign militants in the Moreh terror attack following a series of violent attacks on security forces with heavy artillery where 2 policemen lost their lives and 6 suffered injuries. The attackers are alleged to be Myanmarese militants.
He has assured the public of additional forces being sent to Moreh to address the lawlessness and chaotic situation.

Moreh, the border town of Manipur is under attack again since early morning

@Manipur_Police confirms that the combined forces of the India and Manipur govts are currently under heavy attack from #KukiMilitants #KukiTerrorists since early morning of 17 January 2024. The attacks started at 3:30 am at the IRB post near Kondong Lairembi, Moreh while the security men were sleeping.

In a video a #KukiMilitant can be seen training an assault weapon at the Casper army vehicle threatening the security personnel inside.

UPDATES:
- A security personnel is confirmed dead as of now.
- Three IRB personnel also sustained injuries in the attacks. One of the injured persons was identified as Md. Kamal Hussain of Sangaiyumpha village of Thoubal district, a report said.

- Currently, the roads to Tengnoupal district are being blocked by the Kuki community.
